Pennefather Films is a space for short dance films created by Alice Pennefather, developed through close collaboration with choreographers, dancers, and dance companies.

The work centres on movement and the body, exploring how choreography can be shaped for the screen. Each film is developed around a narrative or character-led idea, allowing movement to function as a form of storytelling. These films often grow out of shared research and conversation, bringing together different artistic voices and practices. Collaboration is central to the process, with each project shaped by the perspectives and physical languages of those involved.

The films sit alongside Alice’s wider practice in film and photography, and provide a space for experimentation and reflection. While rooted in movement and dance, the work often draws on ideas of rhythm, breath, and embodied presence, allowing choreography to be felt as much as it is seen.
